Detroit Community Christian College announced the hiring of Kayla Chism as the Head Assistant Coach of Women's Basketball on November 11th, 2024.

Kayla Chism played basketball at Ypsilanti High School before continuing at Delta College. Kayla transitioned into coaching after a small JUCO career returning to Ypsilanti High School in 2022. She also coached 7/8th grade boys AAU, who 4 championships in the Summer of 2023. Now, Kayla is excited and grateful for this opportunity to coach at the collegiate level and wants to thank Coach Fosha and the DC3 community for welcoming her with open arms! Kayla is excited and dedicated to lifting this program off the ground.

Head Coach Evan Fosha said, "Coach Kayla brings in the perfect balance to what the Lady Lions need to lift this program off the ground. Coming in a bit late, Coach Kayla has already showed promise of commitment to the growth of this program!"
