DC3 Loses to Lakeland

KIRTLAND, OH -- Despite a career-high 17-point performance by Dasia Croft, the Community Christian College Women's Basketball team was defeated by Lakeland, 64-53. Croft's points came on 8-of-30 shooting from the floor, and the only free throw point for the Lady Lions.

The Lakers took control of the game, shooting 23-of-65 (35.4%) from the floor, including 6-of-20 from long range. The hosts led 16-12 after one and 34-25 at half.

Lakeland added to their lead in the final 20 minutes, defeating DC3 in their first matchup against each other.

Karisma Matthews added 14 points while Aqierra Hinton contributed 9.

Imani Smith had a team-high 17 rebounds.

Community Christian returns to action next Thursday, when they play Central Michigan University's club team on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for 5pm.
