WBB Falls Short at Lorain County

ELYRIA -- In their second road game of the season, the Community Christian College Women's basketball team fell to Lorain County CC on Thursday afternoon, 76-43. The Lady Lions were able to play better in the 2nd half, but they were already down by 24 points.

Two Lions players were in double-figures. Aqierra Hinton tallied a game-high 16 points while Brianna Williams added 12.

The Commodores climbed out to an early 22-4 lead after the 1st quarter. Hinton tallied 5 of her 10 rebounds in the first 10 minutes of play.

The Lady Lions played tougher defense in the 2nd quarter, including a block from both Zipporah Johnson and Dasia Croft.

DC3 caught fire in the 3rd, including Williams shooting 3-4 for 6 points. All 5 starters scored in the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately, Lorain County had their highest scoring output in the 3rd quarter as well.

With the game decided, there was no give-up attitude from your Lady Lions. They racked up 4 steals and Hinton put up another 5 points to close the game out.

The Lady Lions travel to Alpena CC this Saturday for the first half of a doubleheader, slated to start at 1pm.
