Men's Basketball Dominate Lumberjacks in the Lions Den

DETROIT -- Not needing the scheduled 40 minutes, the Community Christian College Men's Basketball team smoked Alpena Community College in the Lions Den, 94-54. With four of five starters in double-figures, the Lions continue their undefeated streak at home.

Community Christian improved to 10-6, while Alpena fell to 1-8.

Alpena only led for a few seconds in the game, in part fueled by DaiQuan Coach's 10-point first half. He led all scorers with 22 points -- and sits at 526 points in his career. Coach has surpassed the 20-point threshold in each of the past three games.

Plenty of highlight plays were all over this game, including Derald Blackmon fighting through contact for monster dunks and tough layups. Kajuan Kearney returned to the lineup and scored a signature And-One towards the end of the game. Kevin Steele Jr. scored a career-high 19 points in his first career start, including 5 steals before fouling out with 15 minutes to play.

Typically, Head Coach Kendall English will empty out the bench and allow as many as 15 players to get playing time in games like these, but he decided that 9 players were all they needed to get the job done against the Lumberjacks.

4 players for DC3 scored in double figures: Coach (22), Blackmon (21), Willie Williams (19) and Steele (19). Blackmon picked up his third double-double of the season, with a career-high 17 boards.

Community Christian travels to Muskegon Community College on Tuesday, January 7th for a 7pm contest.
