Football Gets Shut Out vs Garden City
DETROIT, MI -- In the first drive on a wet and murky Saturday afternoon, Garden City quarterback Tyler Nelson hucked a pass deep into double coverage, where Trey West came down with the interception to give Community Christian momentum against the #8 team in the country. It was all downhill from there. The Broncbusters would win 63-0.
The Lions struggled to move the ball all day, only accruing 163 yards all afternoon. Garden City had 508.
Ball control was a conversation on the home side as well, as they fumbled on 8 different occasions, giving the ball away on 3 of those. Many of these were due to bad snaps.
The best performance of the afternoon went to Trey West, who would accumulate 89 yards by himself on the ground and through the air, in addition to the INT and 6 tackles, which was the second most for Detroit.
On defense, Davon Jackson did what he did best on defense, getting 7 tackles on the many rushing plays Garden City had. Unfortunately, the Broncbusters would score multiple touchdowns in each quarter. It was certainly a performance to forget.
The Lions will go on the road this weekend to Myrtle Beach Prep, a game that was just announced Sunday morning. That game is set to start at 2pm EST. We'll have a full recap of the game Sunday morning on ccclions.com.
