DETROIT -- In their home opener, the Community Christian College Baseball team lost a doubleheader with Delta College on Wednesday, losing game one by a score of 12-1, and losing game two by an 18-6 margin.

In game one, Community Christian took a 1-0 lead off an Sacrifice Fly RBI from Jaden Watkins in the 1st inning, only to give up 8 runs less than 3 outs later. The Lions only amassed 2 hits in the entire game.

In game two, it was a tight-knit contest through 5 innings, as Brayton Ochoa only allowed 4 earned runs with the game tied at 6-6. This time, the scoring was led by Nate Crane, who scored after hitting a double in the 1st inning, and scored more runners in after a fielder's choice in the 4th.

In the top of the 6th inning, the floodgates opened, and Delta scored 7 runs in, followed by 5 runs in the 7th inning to put the game to rest.

Joe Downer, Mike Woods, and Watkins also accounted for RBIs in Game 2. Dominic Laskowski was all over the field, starting game one at Catcher, then playing both Left Field and Pitcher in game two.

Community Christian hits the road this weekend, taking on Lorain County Community College in Ohio for 2 games. First pitch is at 11am.
