NELSONVILLE, OH -- The Community Christian College Baseball team lost their opening series versus Hocking in many different fashions on Sunday and Monday, by a combined score of 44-23.
Matt Shakotko led the team in hits with 5. He also had 4 RBIs, as well as 4 runs scored.
After struggling to get any momentum in a shutout Game 1 loss, the runs poured in Sunday afternoon, including Joe Downer scoring 2 runs off 2 walks in a 20-10 loss.
On Monday afternoon, the game became interesting as Shakotko went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and a walk. Unfortunately, the Hawks managed to escape after Detroit scored 10 runs in the 7th.
Community Christian continues their road trip this upcoming weekend, as they will play Glen Oaks in a doubleheader on Sunday, March 9th, first pitch at 1pm.
